Research on Youth Participation in Sport and Democratic Processes
As part of the P2P project, the research phase has officially started . This activity will focus on better understanding how young people participate in social, civic and sport-related life in Europe and in the project partner countries: Serbia, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Malta
The research will include the collection and analysis of data related to two main areas. The first area is the involvement of young people in social and civic activities in Europe and in the countries involved in the project. The second area is the mapping of best practices, mechanisms and models that can improve youth participation through sport in each partner country.
Special attention will be given to the role of sport as a tool for youth engagement, inclusion and democratic participation. Project partners will explore existing practices, successful examples, participation models and barriers that young people face when trying to become more active in decision-making processes.
The findings of this research will later be used as a foundation for the development of the manual “Youth involvement in democratic processes and Sport activities”. In this way, the research will directly contribute to the creation of a practical project result that will support youth workers, sport organisations, trainers and young leaders in strengthening youth participation through sport.
