Final Conference of the P2P Project
The final conference of the Play to Participate – Participate to Play (P2P) project was organised in Athens, Greece, as one of the closing visibility and dissemination activities of the project. The event brought together young people, representatives of sport organisations, youth workers, trainers, local stakeholders and community representatives to present the main achievements, results and impact of the project.
During the conference, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the project activities implemented during the two-year period, including the research on youth participation, the development of Sport Youth Councils and Sport Youth Boards, local trainings, the Youth Leadership Program and the local workshops organised in partner countries.
Special attention was given to the presentation of the main project outputs, such as the manual “Youth involvement in democratic processes and Sport activities”, the Practical Guide for Development of Sport Youth Councils, the Members Selection Guidelines, the Strategy and Action Plan, and the Youth Leadership Program. These materials were presented as practical tools that can support sport clubs, associations, federations, youth organisations and young leaders in strengthening youth participation through sport.
The conference also provided space to share experiences from the implementation of Sport Youth Councils and Sport Youth Boards. Partner organisations reflected on how these structures created opportunities for youth voices to be heard, for recommendations to be developed and for young people to become more actively involved in sport governance and decision-making processes.
The final conference was an important moment to celebrate the achievements of the P2P project and to highlight its main message: sport can be more than physical activity or competition — it can be a space for youth voice, leadership, inclusion and meaningful participation.
